Dorothy "Dot" Chambless Greene, 97 died on November 17, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Born in Macon, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Christopher Eugene and Annie Lee Chambless. She was the widow of John Emory Greene. Services will be Tuesday afternoon, November 20, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Harts Mortuary, Downtown with Reverend Steve Johnson officiating. Family will greet friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Bradley Baptist Church Cemetery, Gray, following the service. Dot graduated from Lanier High School for Girls (A.L. Miller) in Macon. Prior to her illness, she was a faithful member of Shurlington United Methodist Church where she was a charter member and active choir member. She retired from J.C. Penny as a personnel manager and bookkeeper after more than 30 years of service. Dot is survived by her twin sister, Doris Chambless Cubbler of Damascus, Maryland, sisters-in-law, Margaret Chambless and Zeta Chambless of Macon; Emily Greene of Gray and several nieces and nephews. Also, her very faithful caregiver, Shirley Simmons. Flowers will be accepted or memorials to Bradley Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 61, Gray, Georgia 31032.
