Doris Rabinowitz

Doris, 73, passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on Saturday, May14, 2011 in Walnut Creek, CA. Doris grew up in Jacksonville, FL where she graduated from Landon High School. After High School she met the love of her life, Leon Rabinowitz. They started their life together in Savannah and later moved to Macon. Doris was a very active member in the community and had many friends. She was a long time member of Congregation Sha'arey Israel. Doris was a vibrant and outgoing person who made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed entertaining, shopping, tennis, and traveling. She will be missed dearly by all. Her husband Leon, preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her children, Steve Rabinowitz and his wife Laurie of Concord, CA; and her daughter Norma Lynne Cohen and her husband Jeff of Gaithersburg, MD; four grandchildren, Ryan and Sarah Rabinowitz and Brett and David Cohen; and her brother Joseph Isaac of Jacksonville, FL. Services will be graveside at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, GA on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11:00AM. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
