Doris Gail Marshall, died Monday, April 24, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Vernon Knight officiating. The Rosary will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 6:30 p.m., at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. The family will greet friends following the Rosary. Donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or a charity of your choice. Mrs. Marshall was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked for over 30 years at her family's business, Penland's Day Care Center. Mrs. Marshall loved gardening, taking care of her dogs, and spending time with family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Morris Jacob Penland and Gloria Elmore Penland; and nephew, Shannon Williams. Mrs. Marshall is survived by her husband, John R. Marshall; sister, Marcia Williams of Juliette, GA; brother, Morris R. Penland (Sara) of Juliette, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
