Doris Spivey Jordan

Doris S. Jordan, 84, of 134 Jordan Drive, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with the Reverend Ronnie Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the Jordan Family Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Jordan, daughter of the late Ruel Alexander Spivey, the late Sudie Gillis Spivey and the late Lawannah Rowland Spivey, was born in Treutlen County. She was predeceased by three children, Lagail Jordan, Theresa Jordan and Darrell Jordan and two brothers, Herman Spivey and Hal Spivey. Mrs. Jordan loved to read. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother and loving grandmother, who dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed front porch sitting and could bake the best seven layer chocolate cake. Mrs. Jordan surrounded her home with beautiful flowers for her family and friends to admire. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband, Earl Jordan; children, Patricia Bates (Larry), Danny Jordan (Mary), Anita Meeler (William), Brenda Torstenson (Tory) and David Jordan (Sissy); seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, William Spivey, Totsy Campbell, Alex Spivey (Sonja), Maria Keeton (Harold), Montez Kitchings (Johnny) and Carol Rosenwald (Carl); nieces and nephews and extended family.
