Donnie Wells

Donnie Wells passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Centenary United Methodist Church, with Dr. Tim Bagwell and Beth Dunwody officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607 or to a charity of donor's choice. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Wells was retired from Brown and Williamson. He was a great person that was always there for his friends. A caring and benevolent individual, he was held in high esteem by all he met. He served for many years on the board of River North Home Owners Association. Mr. Wells was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Lola Wells; his brother, Albert Glenn Wells; and his daughter, Michele Wells Hoyt. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wells of Macon; sisters: Pat Gomez of Corbin, Kentucky and Mabel Nolan of Albequerque, New Mexico; brothers-in-law: Gene Wortham and Donald Wortham, both of Louisville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Lavern Blanford of Loretta, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Geri McCain of Louisville, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
