Donna Sue Payne Poff

Donna Sue Payne Poff, 63, of Huntersville, North Carolina, died December 4, 2020. The funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, December 9th at Mulberry Street United Methodist in Macon. The Reverend Dr. Nita M. Crump and the Reverend Dean Burris will be officiating.  The family will receive visitors at 10:00 a.m. prior to service.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The service will be live streamed from Hart’s Mortuary Facebook page. To follow social distance guidelines, masks are required.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, 719 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.

Donna was born on December 9, 1956 in Macon, Georgia to Bettie Sikes Causey and the late Donald Payne.  She graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1974. For the last 27 years, she has worked in the dental practice as a front office manager. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains with her family and friends. She was actively involved in her church, serving in several ministries. She enjoyed watching many sports but had a special love for the Georgia Bulldogs. Donna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Susie Sanders Carden; step grandfather, Benjamin I. Carden; grandfather, Joseph Webster Sikes; grandmother, Marie Green Payne; grandfather, Herman Strickland; and grandfather, Albert Payne.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Frank Timothy “Tim” Poff; son, Sanders Poff of Charlotte, North Carolina; mother, Bettie Sikes Causey; step-father, Hines V. Causey; step-mother, Dot Hanners Payne; siblings, Craig Payne, Joette Strickland Bell, Lee Strickland  (John) Woolbright, Todd Strickland, Lisa Knight (Kenneth) Payne and Donnie (Tosha) Payne; grandmother, Girthie Strickland; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
