Donald “Donnie” Ray Matusiak, Sr.

Donald “Donnie” Ray Matusiak, Sr., passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Fort Myers, Florida, on September 14, 1954, to the late Boris and Zelda Walker Matusiak, Donnie was a dedicated family man and a hardworking professional who lived a full and meaningful life.

Donnie spent his career in the heavy lift and maritime industries, operating cranes, heavy haul trucks, and leading major projects, including the construction of Naples, Florida's first high-rise. His expertise took him across the country, serving in roles such as barge captain, lift master, and crane safety inspector.

In retirement, Donnie enjoyed fishing, RV camping, cooking, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Anna Matusiak; his son, Donald Matusiak, Jr. Of Morgan City, Louisiana; his daughter, Lauren Ashley Stratton (Dustin) of Macon; grandchildren: Carter Matusiak, Alex Matusiak, Ansley Squillante, Brantley Bridges, Eleanor Stratton, Willow Stratton, Wimberley "Bevy" Stratton, and Hutch "Rods" Stratton; brother, Michael Matusiak of Sebring, Florida; and his sister, Patricia Melancon (Michel) of Hickory, North Carolina.

An immediate family service will be held at Hart’s Jones County Chapel, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 has charge of the arrangements.
