Don Porter Cranford

Don Porter Cranford, 73, of Macon, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Reverends Benjamin Newberry and Len Woodard officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Don’s honor to the donor’s favorite charity.

Don was born on October 3, 1948.  He was a lifelong resident of Macon, Georgia, and a retired deputy for the Bibb County Sheriff’s department.  He was an avid reader and loved to play golf. Don was a loyal member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Don is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Walker Cranford; sons, Chris Cranford of Gray, Georgia, and Jeff Cranford (Eydie) of Fleming Island, Florida; grandchildren: Jeremy Joseph Droeder, of Macon, Georgia, Anna Maeve Moore (Wyatt) of Dacula, Georgia, Madison Nicole Morris of Phenix City, Alabama, Savannah Cranford, of Crestview. Florida, Brayden Millwood, of Fleming Island, Florida, and Carolina Cranford, of Fleming Island, Florida; three great-grandchildren, and sisters, Judy Stokes (Mack), of Macon, Georgia, and Cindy Newberry (Donald), of Lizella, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, B.C. and Dorothy Cranford, and daughter, Kimberly Cranford Droeder.
