Macon

Diane Lee Taylor, 90, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023. A private service will be held at a later date in Hamilton, Indiana.

Daughter of the late Paul Steven Swift, Sr. and Nadine Copp Swift, Diane was born in Hamilton, Indiana on August 28, 1933. A 1951 graduate of Hamilton High School, Diane married the love of her life, Ken Taylor, in the 1950s. Their unbreakable bond laid the foundation for a beautiful family and a thriving part-time business in site preparation. This venture grew into a well-established company when Diane and Ken moved to Cape Coral, Florida, in 1982.

Embodying the heart of her family, Diane settled in Macon in 2014, filling her days with time spent with her daughter and grandchildren. Her dedication to music and her community shone brightly through her years of service as a choir director and singing in both the choir and performing in musicals. Diane will be lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Diane is survived by her son, Clint Taylor, of Sarasota, Florida; daughter, Laura Herrold (Eric), of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren: Jenna Taylor, Drew Taylor (Natalia), Dane Taylor (Alexandria), Amanda “PG” Herrold, and Taylor Herrold; great-grandchildren, Thomas Taylor, Damian Taylor, and Amelia Taylor. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Steven Swift, Jr. and nieces Leeanne Swift and Suzy MacInnis.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth D. Taylor, and second husband, William Kersten.
