Diane "Dee" Spinks Starling

Diane “Dee” Spinks Starling, 88, of Jones County, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Daughter of the late Madge Lillian and Homer Lee Spinks, Dee was born in Athens, Georgia on August 28, 1937. She was a faithful member of Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church.

She worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years at Coliseum Hospital and volunteered for 20 years at Navicent Health Rehabilitation. She loved caring for others and her compassion, kindness, and dedication to helping those in need touched countless lives.

Dee will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Laura Starling; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edmond Starling; son, James Edmond Starling Jr.; and 8 brothers and sisters.
