Delores “Tootsie” Marie Reid Dixon

Delores “Tootsie” Marie Reid Dixon, 80, of Gray, GA, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022.  Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Elam Memorial Gardens, Gray, Georgia.  The family may be contacted at 2658 Graham Road, Gray, GA 31032.

Daughter of the late Omer M. and Frances Elizabeth Smith Reid, Mrs. Dixon loved all flowers, her favorite color was lavender.  She was one of the 3 Reid sisters, often referred to as The Golden Girls and she never met a stranger.  As an army wife for over 20 years, she always said, “Home was wherever the curtains were hung.” She was a member of God’s Grace Baptist Church.  She retired as a rural mail carrier from the Macon Post office with about 15 years of service.  In addition to her 2 sisters, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Adams, Patricia Blume, and Frances Reid, brothers, Jim Reid, and Gene Reid, and son-in-law, Timothy Goodrich.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by her husband of 61 years, Stan Dixon of Gray; children, Janet Marie Dixon Laughlin, Rusty Crawford (Jennifer), Susanne Dixon Goodrich, and Nichole Dixon, all of Gray ; grandchildren, Ashlei Conte (Sam), Jon Cutsforth (Jess), Chelsea Cutsforth, Eric Cutsforth (Amanda), Sarah Purser, and Christina Goodrich-Britton (Keith);  great grandchildren;  Alexyss, Taylor, Madisen, Tenleigh, Rhett, Christian, Grace Marie , Jami Ray, Maveryk , Timmy, and Kennedy; sister-in-law, Norma Cook (LaVaughn); brother-in-law, Robert Dixon (Kay); and numerous nieces and nephews.
