Delmar M. Singleton

February 17, 1950 — November 17, 2012

Delmar Singleton left us on Saturday, Nov 17, 2012. Born in February 1950, he grew up to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, 1968-72. He retired last year from the Macon Housing Authority with a lot of plans to ride his bike and enjoy his friends. He worked tirelessly as the ABATE District 7 Coordinator and also devoted his time and energy every year to make sure the ABATE District 7 Love Run to benefit the Georgia Childrens Industrial Home was a success. He is survived by his son Michael Singleton of Milledgeville, brother John Singleton of Macon, 2 nephews, 6 nieces and many, many friends that were family in spirit. We will gather to show our respect and love for Delmar on Sunday, Nov 25, 2012, at the Macon City Auditorium from 12pm-2pm and a brief service following the visitation at 2:00PM at the Auditorium. Burial will follow at Avondale Baptist Church, Cochran Field Road, Macon, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Georgia Industrial Home, 4680 Mumford Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Register online at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
