Delma Findlay Watson, 78, of Macon passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the chapel of Ingleside Baptist Church. The Reverend Mark Hudgins and Dr. Tim McCoy will be officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family may be contacted at the residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cannonball House, 856 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Born in Macon, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Prentiss Edwards Findlay, Sr. and the late Dorel Delma Cowart Findlay. Mrs. Watson is the widow of William Augustin Watson III. She is predeceased by her brother, Prentiss Edwards Findlay, Jr. and sister, Christine Findlay Harwell. Mrs. Watson is survived by three daughters Susan Lee Barry of Simpsonville, SC, Ellen Lee McCormick (Michael R.) of Douglasville, GA, Dana Lee Hall (Timothy W.) of Cary NC; son, Christopher Prentiss Lee of Cary NC, five grand children John Neilson Barry, David Prentiss Barry and Andrew Lee Barry all of Simpsonville, SC, Lauren Findlay Hall and Connor Prentiss Lee, both of Cary; one sister, Mary Ellen Findlay Schmich of Eugene, OR; brother, Cuyler Whittle Findlay of New Canaan, CT; and nephews, Prentiss Edwards Findlay III of Macon and Richard Floyd Findlay of Eatonton, GA. Mrs. Watson was a devoted member of Ingleside Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College. Delma was active in many community activities including the Cannonball House, Historic Macon, Rose Hill Cemetery, the Colonial Dames of America, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Macon Arts Alliance.
