Della Sue Morgan, 91, of Marshallville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. She was born in Canton, Georgia, Cherokee County, to the late Clyde C. Chaffin and Minnes T. Chaffin. She was preceded in death by Alfred Joseph (A.J.) Morgan, her husband of 17 years. Also, she was predeceased by her grandson, Michael Ryan Greiner and her brother, Floyd Chaffin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM, in the Jones County Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services for Ms. Sue will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Cherokee County, Georgia.
Sue drove a bus for the Cobb County School System for fifteen plus years. After moving to Gray, she worked as a paraprofessional in the Media Center of Jones County High School for many years before retiring in 2001.
She was a founding member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Kennesaw, Georgia, for twenty-five years. There she served as a church historian as well as many other capacities. After moving, she continued to serve the Lord in various churches in Middle Georgia.
Sue enjoyed collecting Santa Clauses and loved everything about Christmas, from the decorating to the family gatherings. She also loved gardening, growing flowers, cooking for her family, and visiting the mountains. Most of all, she cherished her family and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her son, Robert Joseph Morgan (Judy) of Gray; son, Barry Clyde Morgan (Patricia) of Marshallville; and daughter, Sheila Morgan Greiner of Haddock. She is also survived by four grandchildren – Robyn Morgan Parham (Wayne) of Dearing; Shawn Nicholas Greiner (Rebecca) of Navarre, Florida; Andrew Joseph Morgan (Kathryn) of Dallas; and Rebecca Lynn Morgan of Forsyth. In addition, she had six great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
