Debra Sue Norwood

Debra Sue Norwood, 53, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. The family will greet friends Monday, December 2 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bibb County Special Olympics, c/o Monty Kellam, 673 Woodridge Drive, Macon, GA 31204. Debby was born September 16th 1960 in Alma, Kansas. After living in Lafayette, IN and Chapel Hill, NC, her family moved to Macon in 1973. She completed her studies in 1980 at Butler Center and Central High School. She was an active participant for many in Special Olympics: competing in swimming, equestrian, bowling, and other sports. She loved music and dancing. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Gerald and Annette Norwood; maternal grandparents, A.W. and Jeanette Throgmorton; and paternal grandparents, Henry and Ivy Norwood. She is survived by her sister, Julie Norwood of Macon; two uncles, Ken Norwood of Leavenworth, KS and Don Norwood of Lincoln, NE; special friend, Johnnie Mae Glasco of Macon; numerous cousins and friends.
