Deborah Norris Walker

Deborah Norris Walker, 67, of Gray, Georgia, passed away on January 29, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Daughter of the late William Therman Norris and Pat Hewitt Norris, Deborah was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 23, 1957.  She graduated from North East High School in 1975, and furthered her education at Middle Georgia State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing.  She worked for Georgia Cancer Center as a registered nurse for many years until retirement due to dementia.

Deborah was a member of New City Church in Macon, where she taught Sunshine Kids and was a Sunday School teacher.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Stephen Waits (Holly) of Bonaire, Georgia, Jonathan Waits of Macon, Georgia, Lance Walker of Gray, and Greg Walker (Virginia) of Statesboro, Georgia; grandchildren: Taylor Waits, Dylan Waits, Cameron Waits, Tucker Waits, Braylon Waits, Khloe Waits, Noah Walker, Seth Walker, Hannah Walker, Wyatt Walker, Amelia Walker, Ellie Walker, and Cierra Salcedo; brother, William Norris (Allison) of Edmond, South Carolina, and step-brother, Barry Cole (Marla) of Macon, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Stewart Walker.
