David E. Morgan

David E. Morgan was born May 14, 1934. On August 16, 2017, he passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 5:30 pm at Ocmulgee River Gun Club, 169 Marcar Road, Macon, GA 31216 with Dr. Laudis H. Lanford officiating. In 1953, David graduated from Lanier High School where he was an all-star baseball player and on the rifle team. He was an engineer for Norfolk Southern for 33 years. As an avid outdoorsman, he traveled the world fishing and hunting. In 2016, David was inducted into the Georgia State Skeet Hall of Fame. He was a member of the All-American Veterans Skeet Team three times and competed in 41 consecutive Labor Day Road Races. David is survived by his loving partner and wife of 27 years, Nancy, and a daughter, Gena Morgan Webb (Richard). Other relatives include his stepson, Chris Weidner(Renee), stepdaughter, Janie Parrish (Neal), grandchildren, Chrissie Belcher (John), Jennifer Chandler (Robert), Ethan, Eric, Emily and Ellie Parrish, and great-grandson Josiah Belcher. He is predeceased by his parents, Oliver and Lillian Morgan, son, David Eugene Morgan, Jr. and brother, Fredrick Morgan.
