David Lewis McDaniel, Sr.

David Lewis McDaniel, Sr., 75 of Macon, Georgia, passed peacefully away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Ingleside Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service.

Son of the late R.H. and Ruth McDaniel, David was born in Macon on May 29, 1950. He graduated from Lanier High School, where he was a member of Sedarmoc fraternity, after proudly serving in the United States Coast Guard where he was once selected to serve on the presidential security detail, he returned home to begin building his family and career. David went on to spend many years in advertising sales with the Yellow Pages. He was also a longtime member of Ingleside Baptist Church, where he enjoyed fellowship and support throughout his life.

David was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, offering support and encouragement to others in need. He will be remembered for his devotion to others and selfless acts of service. He also enjoyed being part of the Ford Falcon Owners Group, sharing his love of classic cars with fellow enthusiasts.

David will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, strength, humor, storytelling, and the positive impact he had on those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna-Day Massey McDaniel of Macon; son, D.L. "Bo" McDaniel Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee (Kelly); daughters, Madalyn McDaniel McDuffie (Jason) of Forsyth, Georgia and Jessica McDaniel of Macon; grandchildren: Colin McDaniel, Noah McDaniel, Zoe McDaniel, Max McDaniel, Adeline McDuffie, Pierson McDuffie, and Sarah Channing McDuffie; sister, Dale Watts (John) of Macon; numerous nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Marlys Marcinski of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Carlyn Massey of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
