David Edgar Bernard, Ii

Macon- David Edgar Bernard, II, of Macon, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 11:00AM, in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary with Father Richard Keil officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. Mr. Bernard was a caring, generous man who devoted his life to helping and teaching others. While in Premed at Vanderbilt University, he felt led to serve in the Peace Corps which changed the direction of his life. After serving abroad, Mr. Bernard went on to become a teacher, a perfect career for him because of his patient and kind way with children. He spent most of his time teaching children with disabilities, which he enjoyed very much. Later in life, he taught pottery from his home and was known for being able to turn a piece of clay into something magical. Mr. Bernard was very talented in painting, sketching, charcoal and wood carving. He was a loving husband and father, and he will be greatly missed.
