Darenda Lunsford Crowe

Darenda Lunsford Crowe, 80, of Macon, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 28, 2025. She passed in the hospital surrounded by family and friends. A visitation will be held from 5PM-7PM on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Hart’s at the Cupola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Milner Baptist Church, with Dr. Brad Ellington officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at 2:30 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon.

Darenda was born on November 30, 1944, in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late J.G. and Juanita Lunsford. She is survived by her sons, David C. Crowe of Macon, and Lee L. Crowe (Rebecca) of Richmond, Virginia; granddaughters, Leah Michelle Crowe and Addison Lee Crowe of Richmond, Virginia; and God Daughter, Mary Ben Taylor of Bolingbroke.

Darenda retired from Monroe County Board of Education where she worked as a paraprofessional for fourteen years. She was a caregiver for Mary Ben Taylor and family for thirty-eight years. She was a member of Milner Baptist Church in Milner, Georgia where she taught a children’s Sunday School class and was a member of WMU and Prime Timers. She enjoyed playing upright bass with The Georgia Rose Bluegrass band for several years. She loved fishing with her son Dave at Lake Sinclair and feeding birds and deer in her yard and watching them enjoy their supper. She felt blessed to spend time with her family and friends.
