Coach Richard Francis Reid

Macon- Coach Richard Francis Reid, 78, of 3786 Berkley Drive, died Saturday, October 29, 2011. Services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Dan Melaba and Deacon Hubbard will officiate. The family may be contacted at the residence. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6:00PM until 7:30PM at Tattnall Square Academy, followed by a prayer and memorial service from 7:30PM until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 131 Ward Street, Macon, Georgia 31204.

Coach Reid was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Coach Reid's coaching career spanned over many years and included coaching positions at Jones County High School, Stratford Academy, Beechwood School and Tattnall Square Academy. He was predeceased by his sisters and brother, Katie Gaines, Thomas Louis Reid and Melba Joiner.

Coach Reid is survived by his brother, James Madden Reid (Joan) of Martinez, Georgia; ten nieces and nephews; his loving and dear companion, Kali Bogdan and his faithful canines, Max and Princess.
