Clyde Ronald Haynes

Pray with our family as we mourn the loss of Clyde Ronald Haynes II, 63, of Jones County, Georgia. Clyde went home to be with our Lord on July 20, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, with the Reverend Dusty Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Clyde was born July 14, 1963, in Columbus, Georgia, and relocated to Gray, Georgia with his parents at age 9. He was a 1981 graduate of Jonesco Academy in Gray, Georgia where he played varsity football and participated in Drama Club. He also attended Brewton Parker College in Mt Vernon, Georgia, and served in the United States Army as an Airborne Ranger. Clyde was fiercely devoted to God and his family. He was a loving, caring, and devoted father and grandfather. He was hardworking, owning and operating his paint contracting company successfully for many years. He was active in church, Celebrate Recovery, as well as AA & NA where he helped many people in his community find their way back from addiction. He was pivotal in the founding of the Celebrate Recovery group at Grace Point Church in Jones County, where he frequently shared his life story in the hopes that others would gain the strength and conviction to reclaim their sobriety. Clyde loved his family. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and riding the open road with fellow enthusiasts. He was poetic and artistic, loving to express himself and his beliefs through word, song, and any other artwork using his heart and hands creatively, and was a great fan of Southern Rock, Gospel, and Country Gospel music. He never met a stranger and was an outgoing, loveable, born-again believer and precious child of God. Preceding him in death were his grandparents: Myron D. and Irene S. Obernier of Daleville, Alabama, William Thomas Haynes of Loganville, Georgia, and Mattie Hancock of Columbus, Georgia.

Clyde is survived by his children, Christin Haynes Starling (Kelly), Clyde Ronald Haynes III (Ashley), and Shelby Marie Watkins (James); grandchildren, Elwin Starling, Fletcher Starling, Aubrey Starling, Clyde Ronald Haynes IV, Brody Haynes, Christopher, Navy Kate Watkins, all from Jones & Monroe County, Georgia; parents, Ronald and Linda Haynes; brother, Raybon Haynes (Sherrie); niece, Courtney; nephews, Conner and William; great aunt, JoAnn Butler (Charles); aunt, Barbara Peacock; uncle, Ronald Obernier (Lynda); cousins, Mark Butler, Matt Butler (Tonya), Marletta Butler (Bobby), Mike Grimes (Renee), Eddie Peacock Jr, (Crystal), Billy Jack Peacock (Sheila), David Obernier (Amber), Samantha Rogers (Jack), Matte Hancock (José Mejia), Peter Mejia, Gabe Mejia, and Violet Mejia.
