Clinton M. Gory

Macon- Clinton M. Gory, 89, of 2486 Ingleside Avenue, died Monday, April 26, 2010. Services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with burial in Riverside Cemetery (North Gate). The family will greet friends on Thursday from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Summer Community Ministry, P. O. Box 160294, Atlanta, GA 30316. Mr. Gory, son of the late Norbin Gory and the late Dollie Clayton Gory, was predeceased by his wives, Frances Gory and Harriette Waits Gory. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Dan Gory, Edward Gory, Louise Harris, Evelyn Franks, and Christine McClelen. He was a life member of the Moose Club and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Gory is survived by his daughters and sons, Joan Gory Childs (Tommy) of Statesboro, GA, Susan Gory Hollenback (Bill) of Jefferson, GA, Kathy Gory Crisler (Hunt) of Marietta, GA, David S. Gory of Macon and John C. Gory (Beverly) of Hattiesburg, MS; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Johnny Gory (Betty) of Tupelo, MS, Bobby Gory (Linda) of Tupelo, MS, Brooks Gory (Anne) of Plantersville, MS and Martha Clayton (Allen) of Pontotoc, MS; step-children, Joyce Waits Wade (Phelps) of Macon, Linda Waits Montgomery (Wayne) of Macon and Andy Waits (Lydia) of Fayetteville, GA; seven step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren.
