Clifford Lee "Buddy" Smith

Clifford Lee “Buddy” Smith, 77, of Round Oak, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Buddy was born in Griffin, Georgia, on February 5, 1949, and was the son of the late Benjamin and Martha Clifford. He was a former member and deacon of East Juliette Baptist Church and later attended Gray Church of God.

Buddy enjoyed spending time doing the things he loved most, fishing and playing golf. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him.

Buddy is survived by his brother, Benjie Clifford (Carla) of Round Oak, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Dell Powell (Charlie) and Janice Bloodworth; brother-in-law, Charles Jackson; nephew, Chad Rodeheaver (Jennifer) and many other nieces and nephews.

Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Smith; siblings: Nancy Hobbs (Herman), Peggy Jackson and Paul Clifford.
