Clara S. Malone

Clara Stokes Malone, 86, of Gray, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, after a brief illness.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Bradley Baptist Church, Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 2:00PM with the Reverend Steve Johnson officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial at Gordon Cemetery on Georgia Highway 18 West will follow the service.

Clara was born in Houston County to the late Fred and Doris Stokes. She moved to Jones County when she married her husband, Marvin. They were blessed to share 64 years of marriage. After having their first child, Clara no longer worked an outside job but devoted herself to raising their family. She was more than just a homemaker - she was a gardener, horticulturist, seamstress, chef, driver, and cheerleader. When the grandchildren were born, she became a loving babysitter to all of them. Clara enjoyed cooking large meals for family get-togethers.

She is survived by her children, Eddie Malone (Paula), Angela Brooks (Neil), and Jim Malone (Angie); grandchildren, Jesse Malone, Emily Tribble (Gabriele), Natalie Tribble, Christa Rawlins (Dylan Avant), and Trevor Malone (Ashlee Buice); great-grandchildren, Rylan Griffin, Lillian Tribble, Hayden Rawlins, Harper Rawlins, Hazel Rawlins, Addisyn Malone, and Elizabeth Malone.  She is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy Stokes and Ed Stokes (Sandy).

In addition to her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Malone; and her grandson, Jake Malone.
