Claire Veader

Macon- Etha Claire Elder Veader passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at her residence. Claire was proud that she was the first baby born in Macon, GA on January 1, 1933. Claire was a member of the 1950 Miller High School graduating class. She also attended GSCW prior to transferring to the University of Georgia, where she met her husband Don. Claire was a retired teacher with Bibb County Schools. Claire is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don Veader, four children Steve (Sheriel) Veader, Donna (Kevin) Roberts, Birmingham; David Veader and Ted Veader, Claire had four grandchildren Mandi (Kevin) McKinney, Callie and Natalie Roberts, and Seth Veader and one great-grandchild Madison Roberts. Surviving siblings are Carolyn (Norbert) James and Rex (Dot) Elder. A "Celebration of her Life" will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010, at 4:00PM in the chapel at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street with the Reverend Tommy Freeman officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held following the service until 6:00PM. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
