Claire Ledsinger Smith

Macon- Claire Ledsinger Smith, of Macon, passed away Friday October 2, 2009. Mrs. Smith was born in Atlanta, GA on August 24, 1924 to the late Clarice and Lewis Ledsinger. Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 6, 2009, at 11:00AM at Christ Church with the Reverend Harriette Simmons officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Church, 582 Walnut Street, Macon, GA 31201. Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife to the late Fred Smith for over 50 years. She was an active member of Christ Church where she served on the Altar Guild, was a member of the Daughters of The King and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Smith was also a member of the Hillandale Garden Club, the Red Hats, and the Birthday Club. She loved bird watching, gardening, traveling and she played Bridge with the same group for over 60 years. Mrs. Smith also enjoyed all the activities at Carlyle Place. Survivors: Son, Fred Smith and his wife Lisa of Statesboro, GA; Daughter, Helen Dykes and her husband Tom of Atlanta, GA; Daughter, Louise Rowland and her husband Michael of Gray, GA; Daughter, Trudy Marinier and her husband Philippe of Charlotte, NC; Granddaughter, Lou Harris of Screven, GA; Granddaughter, Trudy Bodaford of Jekyll Island, GA; Granddaughter, Claire Dykes of Atlanta, GA; Granddaughter, Renee Marinier of Charlotte, NC; Granddaughter, Charlotte Marinier of Charlotte, NC; Great grandson, J.C.
