Macon- Claire Thompson DuBose, 87, of 5300 Zebulon Road, Carlyle Place, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2:00PM at Vineville United Methodist Church with Dr. Marcus Tripp and the Reverend Jimmy Duke officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends at Carlyle Place at 3:00PM on Saturday following the funeral service. Parking at Carlyle Place will be provided on the west side road with shuttle to the main entrance. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Vineville United Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204. Mrs. DuBose, daughter of the late Dr. Otis Richard Thompson and the late Hazel Stokes Thompson, was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church and the Mack Anthony Sunday School Class. She attended Sullins College in Bristol, Tennessee and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a Micro-biologist and Associate Manager of the Macon Regional Laboratory of the Georgia State Health Department. Mrs. DuBose was a member of the Grady Bunch and a former president of her chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was also a former member of the Junior League of Macon. Mrs. DuBose is survived by her son, Richard Garrison DuBose and his wife, Sheila of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Eric Richard DuBose and Jeffrey Terrence DuBose, both of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Virginia Thompson Couch of Macon; brother, Dr. Otis Richard Thompson, Jr. of Boone, North Carolina; nieces, Anne T. Bryant of Winston Salem, North Carolina; Lynne T. Booth of Kernersville, North Carolina; Virginia C. Dogan of Izmir, Turkey; nephews, Nathaniel J. Couch, Jr. of Gray, Georgia; Richard J. Couch of Marietta, Georgia; David Thompson of Lenoir, North Carolina; Paul Thompson of Lynchburg, Virginia. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
