C.L. Shearer

Mr. C.L. Shearer, a WWII Army veteran, was raised in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta. A graduate of Boy's High, he was an exceptional athlete. As an avid golfer, he played to the best of his abilities into his early eighties. Scoring a double eagle while in his seventies was an accomplishment that brought him great pleasure.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara VanFrank Shearer; a brother, Gilbert Shearer of Hot Springs, AR; two daughters, Carol and Dan Jones of Loganville, GA, and Barbara and Dave Carson of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Michael P. Jones, Mathew L. Jones and Brooke M. Carson.

The body will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
