Christine Hammock

Christine Hammock, 90, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00AM at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032, with Reverend John Haney and Reverend Jason Dillard officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Ridge Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Hart’s, Jones County Chapel one hour prior to the service from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. In Lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Clinton United Methodist Church.

Ms. Hammock was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Fred Hammock, Sr. and her parents, Myles and Marie Harrison.

Ms. Hammock was a longstanding member of Clinton United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Gray Garden Club, Home Demonstration Club, The Red Hat Society, and the Gray Travelers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. Ms. Hammock was a devoted homemaker, animal lover, and avid gardener.

Ms. Hammock is survived by her daughters, Sandra Blythe (Joe) and Carole Porch (Jim) both of Gray; son, Fred Hammock, Jr. (Norma) of Gray; grandchildren: Ed Blythe (Cristina), Christine Crampton (Sam), Greg Blythe, Jay Porch (Roxanne), and Julie Hall (Matt); greatgrandchildren: Madeleine Crampton, Isabelle Crampton, and Riley Porch; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Ms. Hammock’s caregivers: Beverly Harvey, Tomekia Briscoe, and the staff at Gray Health and Rehab.
