Charlotte Jackson Daughtry

Charlotte Jackson Daughtry, of Macon, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 14, 2017. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Highland Hills Baptist Church. Dr. Jake Hall and the Reverend Jim Bruner will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity. The family may be contacted at 1846 Waverland Circle. Mrs. Daughtry was born February 6, 1940, in Round Oak, GA. She graduated from Jones County High School in 1958 and was a lifelong member of Highland Hills Baptist Church. She was a member of the Jones County High School Basketball team, winning back to back State Championships in 1957 and 1958. Mrs. Daughtry went on to attend Mercer University, graduating from the School of Nursing in 1961 and retired from Middle GA Hospital where she served as the Director of Nursing for 25 years. In 1997, Mrs. Daughtry received the Georgia College Lifetime Achievements Award for her years of service in nursing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Marie Jackson of Gray, GA. Mrs. Daughtry was also preceded in death by her brothers, H.W. Jackson, Harry Lane Jackson and Louis Jackson. Survivors: Husband of 55 years, Robert Wayne Daughtry, Sr.; Son, Robert Wayne (Genia) Daughtry, Jr.; Daughter, Debra Marie Daughtry; Sister, Betty Jean (Guy) Roberts and her grandchildren, Alex Daughtry, Drake Daughtry, Taylor Love and Colin Love.
