Charlie D. Land, Sr.

Lizella, GA - Charlie D. Land, Sr., 65, of 1527 Carl Sutton Road, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11:00AM at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family may be contacted at the residence and will greet friends at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, on Thursday from 6:00PM until 9:00PM. Mr. Land was a Petty Officer in the United States Navy, retired after twenty-five years of service. He was also retired from Robins Air Force Base after twenty-eight years of service. Mr. Land, an avid fisherman, was the owner and operator of Charlie's Residential Painting Company. Mr. Land is survived by his wife, Delores Mary Land; daughter, Jacalyn Lee Langley of Lizella; son, Charlie D. Land, Jr. (Belinda) of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Benton of Macon. Online register is located at www.hartsmort.com.
