Charles Robert Smallwood

Mr. Charles Robert Smallwood, 69, of Jones County, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Bradley Baptist Church, 821 Monticello Highway, Gray, Georgia 31032 at 2:00PM.  The family will greet friends Friday, January 22, 2021 at Hart’s Jones County Chapel from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.  Burial will follow the service at Elam Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Smallwood was born in Greensboro, Georgia and worked for 40 years as a long-haul truck driver.  He was a faithful member of Bradley Baptist Church, where he was an important part of many of the church ministries.  Mr. Smallwood was also a very talented small engine mechanic.  He enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren, and he loved God and his family with his whole heart.

Mr. Smallwood is survived by his daughters, Sandy Lee Harvey Sanderlin and Linda Hardwick, both of Macon; son, James Smallwood (Nakita), of Macon; grandchildren, Corey and Gavin Hardwick, Peyton, Trey and Bailey Sanderlin; J.T. and C.J. Skidmore, and Aaron and Abby Smallwood; brother, Raymond Smallwood, of Greensboro, Georgia; and sisters, Linda Akins, of Greensboro and Virginia Smallwood, of Anderson, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Smallwood’s honor to Bradley Baptist Church Road to Hope, P.O. Box 61, Gray, Georgia 31032.
