Charles Sightler

November 30, 1930 — December 13, 2008

Macon-Charles Edgar Sightler, 78, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Heartland Hospice after an extended illness. Mr. Sightler was born Glenwood, GA November 30, 1930. He was the son of the late Edgar and Mary Sightler. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 15, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 14, 2008, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. Mr. Sightler served his country in the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant of the Army Corps of Engineers. He was an owner operator of Chevron Oil on Shurling Drive in Macon for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Morrison Sightler and son, David Morrison Sightler. Survivors: Son: Stevie (Pam) Sightler of Gray; Son, Scott (Pam) Sightler of Eatonton; Sister, Kay (LW) Clark of Savannah; Grandchildren, April and Kam Thalongsengchanh of Macon; Haley Fields of Macon; Steven Sightler of Gray, Kayla (Tony) Winslett of Auburn, AL, Jessica Shaw of Eatonton, Landon and Layton Sightler of Macon and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heartland Hospice of Macon. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory on Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
