Charles Webb, Jr.

Charles A Webb, Jr., Lt. Col Ret. went home to be with the Lord Monday evening Dec. 15, 2008. Charles Webb, better known as PaPa, was 92 years young. He was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC on July 18, 1916 and was the son of Mary Caroline & Charles A Webb, Sr. Mr. Webb was predeceased by his wife Constance Bernetta; his oldest daughter, Caroline Romero; and two grandchildren, Allison & Ryan Bernhardt. Mr. Webb joined the Army shortly out of high school and is a veteran of World War II. After retiring from the Army he founded Halifax Corporation in Alexandria, VA. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his daughters, Constance A. Flair of Macon, and Catherine W. Bernhardt of Oakton, VA; son-in-laws Carl Flair, and Steve Bernhardt. He was PaPa to nine grandchildren, Katherine & Christian Flair of Macon, Robert Webb, Charles Romero, Alexander Romero of Northern VA, John Romero, Birmingham Alabama, Allen Romero, San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Services and interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA on February 20, 2009. Online registry is located at www.hartsmort.com.
