Macon-Charles Allen Hauck, Jr., 81, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, June 14, 2010 in the Chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Father Allan McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 6:30PM on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Cupola. Family will greet friends following the prayer service until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
Mr. Hauck was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. He retired from the US Forest Service after a forty year career as a research meteorologist. Mr. Hauck was a Director of Al Sihah Shrine and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also Commodore and lifetime member of the Oconee Sailing and Yacht Club. He was a Mason and past Master of Marshall A. Wier Lodge.
Mr. Hauck is survived by his wife, Virginia Hauck; two daughters, Frances Stuart (Michael), and Julie Joiner (Carl); one son, Lewis Hauck (Sanya); grandchildren, Josh, Hannah, Carl, Eric, Patrick, Katherine, and Christopher; sister, Doris Jean Smith; and brothers, Jimmy and John Hauck.
