Charles Albert Engler, Jr., 78, of Gray, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. Contributions can be made to the Jones County Animal Services, P.O. Box 1359, Gray, Georgia 31032, in honor of Charles Albert Engler, Jr.

Charles was born on September 26, 1946, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late Charles Engler, Sr., and Gladys Camp Engler. He played football as a “running back” and ran track during his school days.  He would set football and track records at Wadsworth High School in Ohio.  He enjoyed playing baseball too, but football was his true love.

Charles was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Marines.  Some other activities Charles enjoyed were fishing at West Point Lake, being outdoors and gardening. Charles loved his family, and he will be missed dearly.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Betty Bollen (Darren) and Wendy McCane, both of Gray; his grandchildren, Meagan Audette of Gray, Daniel Dodson of Gray, Aaron Dodson of Cumming, Georgia, Courtney McCane of Spring Hill, Florida, Ryan McCane of Spring Hill Florida, Jaimie Hennessey of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Casey Hennessy (Colby) of Conneaut, Ohio, Brandon Hallman of Douglasville, Georgia, Amanda Duitch of Temple, Georgia, Jessica Brenoe of Douglasville, Georgia, Charlie Engler of Tallapossa, Georgia, Sara Melendez of Nebraska, Rebecka Murphy of Villa Rica, Georgia and Shaylie Engler of California; his twenty-one great grandchildren; and his sister, Dixie Wigbells.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his children, Amy Jo Engler and Charles Albert Engler, III; and his great-great-grandchild, Kemper Hill; his brother, Daniel Engler; and his sister, Joyce Grabowski.
