Charles Peeler Deaton

Charles Peeler Deaton, 69, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 2:00PM at North Macon Presbyterian Church, 5707 Rivoli Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210. The Reverend Hunter Stevenson will be officiating and a visitation will follow the service in the narthex of the church. There will be a private burial at Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Deaton was born in Macon, Georgia. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Peeler Deaton, Sr. and Carilee Nutting Deaton; and his brother, Richard Randolph Deaton. He graduated from Lanier High School for Boys in 1964and from Georgia Southern University where he was a charter member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He did graduate work in education at Mercer University. He was in the Insurance business for 45 years and was the owner of Deaton Insurance Group. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Lynn Davis Deaton; his son, Charles "Trey" Peeler Deaton, III; his daughter-in-law, Allison; "Hummer's" two grandsons, Austin Deaton and Charles "Chase" Peeler Deaton, IV, who were the joys of his life; sisters-in-law, Elaine Deaton Mollenkopf, Janice Davis and Tracy Davis Parker.
