Charles Madden Cork, Jr.

Charles Madden Cork, Jr. passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Macon, Georgia, at the age of 95. He was born in Macon on July 13, 1931.

After graduating from law school, he married Martha Toole and served a stint in the Army. He went on to become a lawyer with the law firm now known as Jones Cork, LLP until his retirement some years ago. He was a father of four: Charles III, Phillip, Bradford and Caroline. He was a grandfather of eight: Sarah, Ricky, Logan, Nick, Bradford, Hannah, Isa, and Max. He was a great grandfather of two, Elijah and Reynolds. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Betty Cork, and her son, Brian Goodman.

The family will host a visitation on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola on Peake Road in Macon.

The family would like to thank everyone who has helped him in the recent past, including his caregivers and the heath care facilities who took great care of him. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to one of his favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/, Christ Episcopal Church in Macon, Mercer University, or to the donor’s choice.
