Charles Leslie Brooks

Charles Leslie Brooks, 86, of Lizella, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Hart's at the Cupola Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum with Reverend John Hughey and Reverend Doug Ivey officiating with Reverend Ann Haines. The family will greet friends on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Charles was born in Gordon, Georgia to the late Opal Nelle Jones and Julian Franklin Brooks. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rebecca (Becky) Nell Butler Couch and Eleanor Ruth Brooks Mathis McGreggor; and brother, Julian Nathaniel Brooks. He attended school in Gordon and Lanier in Macon. He was a veteran and served in the Korean War with the United States Navy from 1952-1956. Charles retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base as a Supervisor in Air Freight Terminal in 1990, after 34 years of service. He attended St. Andrew Christian Church and was a former Deacon. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Ann Molton Brooks of Lizella; sons, Charles Leslie (Missy) Brooks Jr., and Gregory Todd (Sheila) Brooks; eight grandsons, Brandon Todd Brooks, Blake Christian Brooks, Hayden Gregory Brooks, Jonathan Lee Brooks, Joshua Charles Brooks, Andrew Cole Brooks, Harrison William Swinney, and Bryan Gregory Bardash; brother-in-law, Bob (Janell) Molton; and former daughters-in-law, Susan Bardash Brooks and Lisa Brooks Redman.
