Charles Henry Brantley

Charles Henry Brantley, 74 of Gray, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, Georgia 31032. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be private.

Charles was a graduate of Dudley Hughes High School and attended Middle Georgia State University in Cochran, Georgia. He was self-employed in a commercial refrigeration business and in later years he worked in rental property management.  Charles enjoyed woodworking and liked to collect movies as he had numerous movie titles. His favorites were Star Wars and Star Trek.  Charles was very social as he loved to talk to everyone. Charles was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class of Gray UMC.

Charles proudly served his country for eight years in the U.S. Navy as a marine specialist in the Nuclear Submarine Service.

Charles was predeceased by his parents, Thurbert and Onie Brantley of Dry Branch and his brother T.M. (Shirley) Brantley Jr. of Dry. Branch.

Charles is survived by his wife, Betty, of almost fifty years; two daughters; Melissa (Joe) Davis of Byron and Amanda (Alex) Christl of Warner Robins; one granddaughter, Abby Grace Davis of Byron; three brothers; T.D.(Susan) Brantley of Gray, W.C. (Carol) Brantley of Wake Forest, NC, Randy (Cindy) Brantley of Little Rock, AK and a sister, Karen (Dale) Mason of Macon.
