Charles Barfield

Charles Barfield, 89, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Wheeler Heights Baptist Church, with Reverend Eddie Windham officiating. Family will greet friends for visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 1301 Riverside Drive, Macon, Georgia, following the service.  Flowers are accepted, or contributions can be made to Wheeler Heights Baptist Church, 4318 Riggins Mill Road, Macon, Georgia 31217.

Charles was born on May 27, 1935, in Macon, Georgia to the late Bernice Carswell and Dorothy Juanita Barfield.  He worked as a salesman at the Macon Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company. He retired from there and began to enjoy his retirement by spending time with his family and friends.  Charles especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Charles was a former member of Ocmulgee East Baptist Church, and later in his life, became a member of Wheeler Heights Baptist Church.  He was a man of great faith and enjoyed going to church to worship. He also loved antique cars and trucks.  One of Charles’s favorite things to do was to eat catfish with family and friends at Thompson Cove in Toomsboro, Georgia.  He created so many wonderful memories with his family.  Each one will be cherished forever.

Mr. Charles is survived by his daughters, Patty Avery (Johnny) of Macon, Georgia, and Tammy Braswell of Pinnacle, North Carolina; his three grandchildren, Jonathan Avery (Casey) of Macon, Georgia, Brandy White (Chris) of Macon, Georgia, and Cheyenne Braswell of King, North Carolina; his great grandchildren, Lake Avery, Rylan Avery, Tifton Willis, Baxley Willis, Brynson Willis, Mayleigh White, and Charlie White; and his special friend, Debra Mullis of Bolingbroke, Georgia.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Ann Barfield; his brothers, Harvey Barfield and Morris Barfield; and his sister, Evelyn Wyatt.
