Chan Johnson

Channing “Chan” Lisa Johnson, 63, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Hart’s Chapel at the Cupola.  The family will greet friends following the service.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alliance for Therapy Dogs, 1919 Morrie Ave., Cheyenne, WY 82001.

Born to the late Joan Smith in Duluth, Minnesota, Chan could light up a room and had a generous heart.  Owner of JAJ Dog Training and a certified dog trainer, she was passionate about dog training.  She was also a member of Alliance for Therapy Dogs, visiting schools and nursing homes with the therapy dogs.  She was loved by many in the dog community and will be sorely missed.

In addition to her love of dogs, she loved to cook.  She also loved the outdoors and going camping and fishing.

Chan is survived by her husband of 21 years, Rick Johnson of Macon, Georgia; daughter, Jennifer Hinson (Daniel) of Bonaire, Georgia; and grandchildren, Brantley, Eli, and Levi Hinson.
