Cathy Ann Byrd "Kaki" Smith, aged 74, was welcomed into Heaven on June 8, 2026. She was greeted by her granddaughter, Areale Nunn; siblings, Vicky Tinsley and Tim Byrd; parents, Dewitt and Shirley Byrd; aunt, Kay Rauscher; grandparents, Pauline and Virgil Cooper, Sr.; and many friends from her Homebound Ministry.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Gray. Her family will host a time for visitation one hour prior to the service. Flowers are accepted or donations to the following are encouraged to:

Cathy was born on July 18, 1951, in Macon, Georgia. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she led the Homebound Ministry for many years. Cathy loved God, her family, and many friends.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Randy Smith; kids, Jennifer and Travis Nunn; grandkids, Haley and Thomas Kent; sisters, Julie Knighton and Kim Byrd; aunt, Peggy Cox; uncle, Virgil Cooper, Jr.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
