Catherine "Kitty" Cook

July 30, 1936 — December 29, 2017

Catherine B. "Kitty" Cook, of Macon, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Mrs. Cook was born in Macon on July 30, 1936. She was an avid softball and volleyball player, and she loved to play the piano, which she learned to play by ear. Mrs. Cook loved her Lord and was a former member of Log Cabin Baptist Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church and Lizella Baptist Church. She was currently a member of Mabel White Baptist Church. Mrs. Cook was previously employed as a part time bookkeeper at Dr. McMichael's office, and at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife and mother who was a committed homemaker. She loved to celebrate holidays with her family and friends gathering. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Davis Cook, and her grandson, Barry Smith, is with Jesus. Survivors: Son, Richard (Miriam) Cook; Daughters, Barbara (Hilton) Smith, and Beverly (Stan) Johnson; Grandchildren, Meredith (Richard) Stokes, John (Jennifer) Johnson, Lee (Liz) Smith, Melissa (Mark) Smith and Miranda (Chan) Ayers; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
