Catherine Genone (Cathy) Bender

Catherine (Cathy) Genone Bender, 62, of 916 Summit Avenue, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012. Services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 2:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Allan McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. A rosary will be said on Wednesday at 6:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 Poplar Street, Macon, Georgia 31201 or to Heart of Georgia Humane Society, P. O. Box 7554, Macon, Georgia 31209. Cathy attended A. L. Miller High School and graduated from Lasseter High School. She was a graduate of Macon Junior College where she received a degree with highest honors in Dental Hygiene. Cathy was predeceased by her father, Ernest Genone, Jr. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Cathy is survived by her husband, Dr. John S. Bender of Macon; mother, Catherine Genone of Macon and her sister, Patti Williams (Jeff) of Macon. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
