Carroll Alonzo Walker of Macon passed away on January 23, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Janet Thomas Walker, his wife of 33 years, Marianna Ricketson Walker; his brothers and sisters J. C. Walker, Kenneth Walker, Oreta Lawrence May, Elizabeth Duggan, Janet Wells, John Walker and Donald Walker.
Carroll is survived by his nieces Lynn Stubbs (Rocky), Cam Bishop (Bruce), Joan Wilson (Charles Sapp), Patricia Burgamy and Donna Heard (Dick); other nieces and nephews; step-sons George Ricketson of Denver, Colorado and Emory Ricketson (Mary) of Murphy North Carolina; his extended family Tom and Lash Woodcock, granddaughter Hayes Woodcock Capps (Clay), great-grandchildren Virgina Lawton Capps and Randolph Clayton Capps, Jr.; and Celena Williams, loyal caregiver and friend.
Born April 19, 1926, in Warthen, Georgia to Mary Elizabeth and Joe Carlie Walker, Carroll grew up on the family farm, graduated from Sandersville High School, served in the United States Army during World War Il and founded Industrial Welding and Tool Supplies in 1963 from which he retired in 1992.
Carroll is a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and served on the boards of
Mercer University, The Salvation Army, Wesleyan College, Georgia Industrial Children's Home and National Advisory Board, School of Engineering, Mercer University.
Time spent with his family brought him great joy. Carroll loved his community, travel and celebrating major events in the lives of his granddaughter and great-grandchildren. His life was a model of loyal dedication to his church, his family and his community. Carroll will be greatly missed but we rejoice that he is welcomed into heaven with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
A memorial service will be held at The Cupola, Hart's Mortuary, Macon on Wednesday, January 28 at 2:00 0'clock. The family will greet friends following the service.
