After raising her children, Louise had a good career for 20 years at Robins Air Force Base. After retiring she traveled extensively including many trips to Europe and Panama with Gene whose Department of Defense job required worldwide travel. She especially loved the food in Germany and the sights in many countries.
Louise was also an outstanding cook and prepared delicious meals every Sunday and holidays for all family members who could attend, usually 15 to 20 people. In addition, she cooked Wednesday night meals at Church and donated proceeds back to the Church for furnishings and decorations.
Louise and Gene are Charter members of Shurlington United Methodist Church, and she was active to the end. She was president of the Methodist Women’s organization, taught Sunday School for many years, sang in the choir until the pandemic eliminated the choir and served on several committees and the Administrative Council.
