Carolyn Mckenzie Truesdel

July 28, 1919 — July 19, 2010

Macon- Carolyn McKenzie Truesdel died on Monday, July 19, 2010, nine days before her 91st birthday. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola. The Reverend Jim Dant will officiate. Interment at Felton Cemetery in Montezuma will be private. The family may be contacted at 5357 Whitehouse Plantation Road.

Mrs. Truesdel was born in Montezuma, Georgia on July 28, 1919. She was the daughter of Earl McKenzie, Sr. and Cleone Lewis McKenzie. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia and Wesleyan College in Macon. She was a Phi Mu. Mrs. Truesdel was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and Idle Hour Country Club and was a past member of Martha Hammond Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid bridge player, a talented homemaker, a devoted wife and loving mother, and a good friend.

Mrs. Truesdel was the widow of Lemuel Davis Truesdel, Sr. and was predeceased by her son, John McKenzie Truesdel and a brother, Earl McKenzie, Jr. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lemuel Davis (Dave) Truesdel, Jr. and Ginger Truesdel of Knoxville, Tennessee and her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia T. Mitchell and William F. (Mitch) Mitchell of Macon; granddaughters, Lynn Truesdel Yarborough (Tony) of Perry, Wendy Truesdel Patel (Mitesh) of Atlanta, and grandson, Richard Harold Suttles, Jr. (Arlyn) of Gainesville, Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren, Thomas Daniel Stimus, II, Burton Patrick Stimus, Jr. and Victor Lemuel Stimus, all of Perry, Rakesh Patel and Lali Patel of Atlanta, and McKenzie Elizabeth Suttles and Carolina Childs Suttles of Gainesville, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family recommends that donations be made to Highland Hills Baptist Church, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon, GA 31211 or Hospice Care Options, 1125 Walnut Street, Macon, GA 31201.
