Carolyn Dunham Spanjer

June 6, 1945 — December 31, 2014

Carolyn Dunham Spanjer, of Macon, passed away December 31, 2014 at a local hospital. A service will be held Saturday, January 10, at 2:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, Macon, GA with The Very Reverend Harriette Simmons officiating. Burial will be held following the service in the Memorial Garden at the church. Visitation and a reception in the Cloister Room will follow the burial. Carolyn was born June 6, 1945 in Augusta to the late Marion W. and Blanche H. Dunham. She attended Richmond Academy High School in Augusta and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism. She and her family lived in Kenner, LA; Atlanta; Mt. Laurel, NJ; Shawnee, KS; Plano, TX; and Matthews, NC. At one time a homemaker, Carolyn subsequently worked for a variety of companies. She was preceded in death by her younger son, Eric. She is survived by her older son, David, of New York City; her sisters, Jane Willingham (John) of Macon, and Susan Bollman of San Diego, and her brother, Bill Dunham, of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews. She treasured her friends and family and was happiest when she was with them. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and always enjoyed a hand of bridge. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Rd., Macon, Georgia 31210, or a charity of your choice.
